What a great job, guys! Our band went to the State Fair and marched down Main Street as part of the Marching Band Day at the fair. Our students got to see bands of all sizes compete on the grounds of the fair. They tasted the foods, rode the rides, checked out the booths and had a great time at "Kansas's Largest Classroom." Just ask them.
I am, personally, very proud of our performance downtown. We did so much better than last year! What a difference a year can make. Our band played the fight song (Go U. Northwestern) and "Sweet Caroline." Audience members were even singing along! Mr. McVey kindly joined us on the tri-toms and gave us a bit of cadence to boogie with down the street. We have a brand new student named Jordan who jumped in on Monday and marched with us yesterday... that's two days practice! He did a great job. We were also joined by our lovely, spirited cheerleaders and our tiger.
Overall, this year's marching was great and I hope you can come see us next year when we're even better!
My hobbies include playing with my children, singing in the church choir and reading. When I have free time I like to visit family, play board games and sew. When I have "extra time" I also play guitar, craft and paint.
